peeps

Little by little, Spring is taking hold at my house.

I purchased this wire basket last month in Canton.  I thought it would be just perfect for Easter eggs!  It has also been wonderful filled with green apples.  Yesterday,  I purchased two bags of plastic eggs at Pier 1.  I found the chicks at World Market.  I almost expect to hear them when I walk by :).

I'm hoping my teenagers don't figure out that these jelly beans are real....

I filled this cloche with a foil wrapped rabbit and Easter eggs.  Looks good enough to eat, but there is no chocolate : ( .

There are even bunnies in the guest bathroom.

Couldn't resist this Provence crate at Tuesday Morning.  I just put a flat of petunias right into it.

Blessings,

Eilis

thank you!

I have almost been feeling like a "real" blogger this week, because I figured out how to make a header and use a background from Shabby Blogs.  Given enough time, I may also figure out how to use some of the other adorable free graphics that they offer.  They even have great tutorials, but this is a little like teaching long-division to a preschooler.  I am just not there yet.

So, on the feeling like a real blogger theme, I discovered a new comment from Cameron at Cameronhomemade nominating me for the Liebster Blog Award.  Thank you!!!!

I don't know which I am happier about, that I was nominated or that I get to nominate five blogs I enjoy.

So here are the five amazing creative ones I chose (in no particular order):

1

Celeste at Here in the Waiting Place - I discovered this creative blog through Pinterest where she had created a felt board version of Mr. Potato Head.

2

Abbey at The Cards We Drew - Many great ideas there! Check out the bride and groom strawberries for a wedding shower.

3

Butterbean at Butterbean Row - Lots of creativity and beautiful photography.

4

Jennette at Nettie's Expressions - A wonderful new free printable each month and lots more.

5

Lynn at Shabby Story - The pictures of her "shabby" creations are  just beautiful.

If the blogs I listed want to accept the Liebster Award and pass it on to 5 blogs themselves, here are the rules:
This award is given by bloggers to their favorite blogs with under 200 followers. The Liebster Rules are:
1. Post about your win on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who presented you with the award.
3. Copy and paste the award to your blog.
4. Present the Liebster Award to 5 blogs that have less than 200 followers that you think deserve to be recognized.
5. Let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.

Happy Spring!

fairy garden

I spent some wonderful time at one of my favorite places today.  It is Enchanted Gardens and it is not a nursery, it is an experience!  I picked up a few new items and tiny plants for my fairy garden.  Spring is here and the poor fairies were despairing that I had forgotten about them.  I purchased the boys at Target last year.  I found the girl at Hobby Lobby recently.  Most of the accessories are from Enchanted Gardens or Home Goods.

I just love my new little wooden ladder and bird house:

Here's today's before:

And here are two pictures of one of our very curious wire fox terriers, Parker, checking out the progress:

And here's my inspiration (Enchanted Gardens):

Someday...

Check out the ladders from the hanging baskets!

Update:
After writing this post, I created a fairy garden page.  Please use the tab on the top of the screen or click here if you would like to see more photos of the fairies at play.

leprechaun caught!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I used:
One Irish-themed Christmas ornament (I taped the string behind his back)
A cake plate with green ribbon
A sheet of shamrock scrapbook paper
A cloche
Some "gold" coins
Green apples
A green and white table runner

the forgotten room

We put a half-bath off of our patio to prevent wet tracks from the pool through the house.  I had fun filling it with garden themed items.  Funny thing though, adults hardly ever see my garden restroom.  It is pretty much used by teenagers, who probably don't even notice my efforts.  So I thought I'd share it here.  Forgive the camera angles.  It's hard to take pictures in a very small room with a mirror!

welcome

My house is pretty neglected at the moment.  Work and life have kept me very busy.  But hey - if you just have time to do one thing, why not something that everyone who sees the front door will see?

So after seeing the following beautiful front door arrangement:

and looking at my tired February flowers

(Before)

I headed off to Michael's.  I bought some twisty twigs, some greenery, and a little metal sign.

I painted it with two coats of chalkboard paint.

And of course wrote Welcome in chalk.  I am looking forward to changing the greeting for holidays and special occasions.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you will become a follower.
